About Southeast Kentucky Housing and Homeless Alliance (SKHHA)

Harlan County CAA has established a partnership with the Southeast Kentucky Housing and Homeless Alliance (SKHHA) to promote the development of supportive housing services for homeless persons in Harlan County.

SKHHA was formed by four organizational members experienced in crisis and intervention programs to provide assistance to individuals and families who become homeless.

SKHHA Services Provided

The SKHHA program provides resources for comprehensive case management to clients in existing shelters, which includes:

  • Counseling and motivation

  • Assistance in locating housing

  • Employment support

  • Child care services

  • Public assistance coordination

  • Short and long-term goal setting

  • Aftercare services

Additional Support Services

SKHHA also provides the following additional services:

  1. Transportation Services: Transportation for homeless clients to employment opportunities, social service agencies, and educational classes.
     

  2. Technology Support: Computer support for case management, allowing staff to interact with other agencies, stay informed of current information, and help train clients to obtain crucial computer literacy skills.
     

  3. Community Outreach: Harlan County CAA provides case management, homeless outreach activities, crisis intervention, homeownership workshops, and budget counseling.
