Non-Emergency Medical Transportation

This transportation service is primarily for those in need of medical services, Department for the Blind appointments, and Cumberland River Comprehensive Care Center visits.

To schedule non-emergency medical trips with insurance, you have two options:

  1. LKLP: 1-800-245-2826

  2. Access2Care: 1-866-653-0975

Requirements:

  • Advance notice required, please within 72 hours of your appointment

  • Information needed when calling:

    • Your social security number

    • Pickup location details

    • Appointment time and location

    • Drop-off location after appointment

  • Passenger policy: One passenger allowed per ride

  • Child policy: Car seat required for children; kids under 18 need to be accompanied by an adult

This service is funded by Office of Transportation Delivery, a part of Kentucky Transportation Cabinet under the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Public Transportation Services

Jobs Transportation (Half Price)

This service is offered to anyone in the Harlan County area who needs transportation to their job. The fee is half price based on where you live in Harlan County according to the rate sheet.

Public Transportation (Demand Response)

For a nominal fee based on the client's specific need, transportation is provided so that citizens may have access to educational facilities, places of employment, shopping centers, agencies, and other sites. We currently cover the entire county as well as out-of-town medical facilities, airports, and bus stations.

Information Needed for Scheduling

For both Job and Public Transportation trips:

  • Full name

  • Phone number

  • Mobility needs (if any)

  • 911 physical address (pickup location)

  • Drop-off address

  • Date and time of trip (appointment time)

Intercity Feeder Services

Harlan County CAA provides an Intercity Feeder Service to the Greyhound Bus terminal in several locations: in London, KY; Lexington, KY; Louisville, KY; and Knoxville, TN.

Important: Harlan County CAA requires 72 hours advance notice to schedule transportation to Greyhound terminals.

Veterans Transportation Services

Transportation for Veterans

HCCAA is honored to provide transportation to our veterans who live in Harlan County.

Pricing:

  • In-town trips to the doctor or pharmacy: FREE of charge

  • Out-of-town trips: Charged at the rate the VA pays ($0.415 per mile)

Information Needed for Scheduling

Required for all veteran trips:

  • Full name

  • Copy of ID card or DD-214

  • Phone number

  • Mobility needs (if any)

  • 911 physical address (pickup location)

  • Drop-off address

  • Date and time of trip (appointment time)
